What is the Porto's Medianoche?

Porto's fills it with house-made, slow-roasted pork, sweet roasted ham, Swiss cheese, pickles and Cuban dressing.

The difference is the medianoche roll, a rich, sweet bread with a soft crust. It's pressed like the Cubano.

Medianoche means midnight. In Cuba it was a late-night sandwich.

Medianoche calories and nutrition

Porto's doesn't publish calories or nutrition facts for its menu, including the Medianoche.

We haven't found a reliable third-party figure either, so we're not listing one. If you're tracking calories, ask the bakery or log a similar item and treat it as a rough estimate.

Ingredients and allergens

Porto's describes the Medianoche as made with:

  • Slow-roasted pork
  • Sweet roasted ham
  • Swiss cheese
  • Pickles
  • Cuban dressing: mustard, mayonnaise, house seasonings
  • Medianoche roll

Porto's doesn't publish an allergen chart. From its own description, the Medianoche contains:

  • Wheat, from the roll.
  • Milk, from the Swiss cheese.
  • Egg, from the mayonnaise.

We can't confirm anything beyond that. Porto's kitchens handle nuts, dairy, wheat and meat, so tell the counter about any allergy before you order.

How to order the Medianoche

  1. Order at the café counter. Every one of the six bakeries has a café. Café items aren't part of Porto's online pickup ordering.
  2. Plan for lines. Weekend mornings are the busiest time at every bakery. A weekday visit is usually quicker.
  3. Feeding a group? See our Porto's catering guide for delivery and large pickup orders.
