It's a soft, Cuban-style corn tamale filled with Porto's signature slow-roasted pork.

Pork Tamale calories and nutrition

Porto's doesn't publish calories or nutrition facts for its menu, including the Pork Tamale.

We haven't found a reliable third-party figure either, so we're not listing one. If you're tracking calories, ask the bakery or log a similar item and treat it as a rough estimate.

Ingredients and allergens

Porto's describes the Pork Tamale as made with:

  • Corn tamale dough
  • Slow-roasted pork
  • Corn husk wrapper

Corn dough doesn't need wheat, but Porto's doesn't say whether its tamale is gluten-free or made apart from wheat items. Ask before ordering if that matters.

We can't confirm anything beyond that. Porto's kitchens handle nuts, dairy, wheat and meat, so tell the counter about any allergy before you order.

How to order the Pork Tamale

  1. Online pickup. Order on Porto's site for same-day pickup at any of the six bakeries. Ordering for the next day opens at 10 PM, and pickup runs 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM at the Preorder Counter. Bring the card you paid with and a photo ID.
  2. Walk in. Every bakery sells it from the counter. Weekend mornings have the longest lines.

How to reheat a tamale

Leave it in the husk and steam it for about 10 to 15 minutes, until hot all the way through.

In a hurry, wrap it in a damp paper towel and microwave it in short bursts. The husk keeps the dough from drying out.
